This #HomeAlone #Parody W/ #MacaulayCulkin Is Awesome

I have never understood the Home Alone hate. Sure the concept is beyond silly, but it is a harmless flick. The squeals are horrific and we shall not talk about them here, but the first one is not bad. I must have watched that movie a billion times as a kid. Which makes this short just awesome for me:

What can I say, I enjoyed it to no end. A couple of thoughts:

I don’t know if Kevin would have gone crazy from his experience. I mean, his family was gone only for a couple of days and Kevin seem well adjusted before the movie started. I don’t think I would have been scarred over being left home alone for that amount of time. If anything, it looks like stuff afterward may have drove him crazy. But I am not a psychiatrist, so I don’t know.

In the comments, people point out that Macaulay Culkin could very easily do the Joker or do Kurt Cobain in a biopic. I agree with both these points. We have left out Macaulay Culkin in the cold for far too long. In the space of two days, he has driven 13.8 Million (at the time of this reaction) to that video. I call that a smashing success. In a hands of a great director, I think Macaulay Culkin could indeed make a come-back.

Well, see ya’ later!

#IDR/#IndependenceDay/@IndependenceDay Trailer Looks Awesome!

This Independence Day: Resurgence Trailer looks pretty awesome! Too bad the movie will likely suck:

It’s not that anything looks bad, but I currently have a couple of problems:

You know the liberal wet dream that America has taken a backseat to a world government will be all over this movie. In reality, America would have taken the lead in rebuilding the world and you know it. What we need is a positive American movie these days and we are not going to get it. Hollywood was pro-America in 1996, what happen?!

The first Independence Day was a popcorn flick that, while serious, knew when to bring levity when you needed it. With the exception of Marvel movies, no one is giving us this at the moment.

They also give you a WarOf1996.com history website and that, while the site is well done and admitted cool, is lazy writing.

Notable Returns: Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch, and Brent Spiner (whose character apparently did not die in the first movie).

Notable Not Returning: Adam Baldwin (…for reasons) and Will Smith (for asking too much money and steep demands).

New People: Thor’s Younger Brother, Sela Ward, Jessie Usher, William Fichtner, and Maika Monroe.

Overall, I want to see this movie. However I feel like I am going to be disappointed. I’m excited with low expectations (if that is a thing).

Well, see ya’ later!

The #KungFuPanda3/@DWAnimation Trailer Reaction

*sips coffee*

Well now. That looks very interesting.

I am going to be honest. I haven’t seen Kung Fu Panda 2. It is not that I didn’t want to see, because I did like the first Kung Fu Panda a lot. I just haven’t had the opportunity to see Kung-Fu Panda 2. In fact, I hear that Kung-Fu Panda 2 is better than the first one.

…But I am needlessly getting off track here. Bryan Cranston voices Po’s biological father. And in this movie, Po has to do the training. Seems very interesting.

Well, see ya’ later!

The “It’s Not Funny” #DonVerdean #Reaction And Discussion

I like to pride myself on my sense of humor. I find some stuff funny, that some people don’t. I also have a saying that “If you can’t laugh at yourself, you don’t know a good joke.” and try to live by it.

I tell you all this, so you won’t think the outright blasphemy (and I will talk more about that later) is what most offends me. What offends me is that this trailer is not funny. At all:

There are only five jokes here and they all fall flat. Not a single one is redeemable:

1) So Don hits Carroll in the uterus with a rock. And that’s the joke. But it is not funny. A joke has to have a turn. If Carroll had a chastity belt, for example, that protected her from the rock and then everyone stands around going “Why do you have a chastity belt?” would have been funny.

2) Satan And Grape Nuts. Nuts! Get it, Nuts! Tee-Hee! …No, that’s not funny. That’s only funny to a five-year-old!

3) “Holy Land Over Here, Not There” No one thinks or says that. No one!

4) Pastor Fontaine (played by Will Forte) tells someone to put a dead dog in everyone’s cars. That is gross.

5) “Like Lucifer has farted in my brain.” …What?! That makes zero sense!

The acting also seems wooden.

Also, a bunch of people commit evil in God’s name and I am disgusted to no end. I will let David Prager explain why this is such a grave blasphemy:

This is a movie about a bunch of people who totally misuse God’s name and do seemly bad acts, like stealing and lying, also in God’s name. And I bet you all the tea in China that the makers of this film, including the actors, think Christians act like this and would say Christians are just getting their comeuppance.

I am not one for boycotts, but if you’re a Christian and wish for this nonsense to stop, you should just avoid this film altogether.

Well, see ya’ later!

The #StarWarsTheForceAwakens TRAILER From @ScienceVsCinema We Wanted

I know this is coming late, but the last few days I have not felt well and so please pardon my tardiness in this matter.

The first full “trailer” for Star Wars The Force Awakens was, to say the least, disappointing. It was like an extended teaser. Apparently I was not alone in my feelings. Some desperate editor took all the teasers and actually made a full trailer:

Up until this point I have been excited to see this movie, I didn’t really need to see a teaser or a trailer. It wasn’t until this supercut of a trailer came out that I got goose bumps. Now am I ready to see this movie. I now WANT to see this movie.

What really blows my mind, is that someone found an actual narrative in all that we have been given and just put it together. Was this trailer already (in another form) made, and did someone take a look at it and said: “Yep, no. We are going to cut it up and put out only teasers.”

It makes you wonder. Still, I am relieve that I can now put my fears to rest.

Well, see ya’ later!

My #StarWarsTheForceAwakens TRAILER 1 Reaction

Oh man! An actual Star Wars The Force Awakens TRAILER!

Everything we have been getting up until this point has been a teaser. Which is fine, but I am so ready now for a full blown trailer. We are actually going to get some meat instead of tiny bites. So lets watch and get blown away:

No really, what hell was that?! I feel like Ron Swanson who ordered a steak and got something that is not a steak.

And the funny thing is, no one can even agree if this was the first trailer for this movie. Fandango has this listed as this listed as “TRAILER 1” and a bunch of people who do reactions or reviews on YouTube think this is either the second or third trailer. It would seem no one knows what is the difference between a teaser or trailer, or they just don’t care. A teaser is supposed to get you excited and a trailer is suppose to tell you why you should see this movie.

Maybe the film makers don’t think we need a reason to come and see this movie …and that honestly worries me to no end.

I’m likely the only person in the world who is really disappointed by this so-called trailer. I still want to go see it, but now I have doubts. I hope my doubts are baseless and that this will be a good movie. However I have a bad feeling about this movie right now.

Well, see ya’ later!

The #RedBand #FreaksOfNatureMovie Reaction

I could talk about Race and how I think the double meaning of the title is awesome. But then I wouldn’t have much else to say, other than I go watch this movie as I am a WWII history buff.

So instead I will react to this boring yet another vampire/zombie movie called “Freaks Of Nature”. It only has a red band trailer, so you are warned:

OMG! ALIENS?! Sign me up, motherfuckers! I’m there!

No seriously, I was actually interested in the whole Vampires vs Zombies vs Humans concept. While not new, it is a rare jem of a movie that has both monsters. However the addition of Aliens sent me from just “slightly interested” into “Shut Up And Take My Money Interested” real fast. Why? Why not?

Information is hard to find on this movie, because it used to be called “The Kitchen Sink” (for obvious reasons) and be out by January 2015. Then for reasons known only to the brain-dead bags of shit at Sony, they are releasing this movie “Freaks Of Nature” and in a matter of days. Honestly, the people at Sony need to be stopped. But I digress, for that is a debate for another time.

If you want to see this movie, you may have to wait a while. It will be only in “select theatres” nation wide. So you are going to have to wait a while for a Netflix viewing (which I will do).

Well, see ya’ later!

The #HailCaesar!/@HailCaesarMovie Trailer Discussion

I don’t always do these posts. I only do them if I have something to say about the teaser/trailer or about the movie itself. After watching this trailer, I have something to say:

First and foremost, this is the last movie of the “Numskull Trilogy” by Coen Brothers. The first being O Brother, Where Art Thou? and the second being Intolerable Cruelty. It had to come to an end sometime folks.

Yes, that is Josh Brolin in the lead role. I was shocked too. I look forward to him playing the Older Gentleman roles starting with this one. It just seems like yesterday he was a teenager in The Goonies. Damn, I am starting to feel old now myself.

But I digress. Blink if you miss it, but that is indeed Clancy Brown. He is going to be in the upcoming Warcraft film, and I know you are looking forward to that movie right now. Some people who are in the movie that don’t make an appearance in this trailer: Christopher Lambert and Robert Picardo.

What sold me was when Tilda Swinton’s character yelled to Josh Brolin’s character that she wanted the truth. Then Josh Brolin goes “The Truth. Em…” and then runs off. George Clooney sort of nod at the end of the trailer also blows me away. You see, that is acting. I will give you an example of some great acting:

Noticed how Catherine Hicks reacted to William Shatner’s “LDS” line. Half of all acting is reacting. Any director worth his or her salt would tell any actor to shove their “one take” policy no matter how famous they are.

“Hail, Caesar!” is also listed as a musicals and I’m not into musicals, but this looks interesting to say the least. If I can, I would definitely go see “Hail, Caesar!” as soon as I can.

Well, see ya’ later!

#TheRevenant/@RevenantMovie Trailer Discussion

Okay, we got a look at the teaser and it was good. Will the Trailer hold up?

Yes, yes it does. Amazingly well, actually.

In the teaser, I said this about the movie:

The last thing I noticed on repeat views, was that the beginning showed Indians attacking a White village/settlement. How very un-politically correct of them to do this in a modern western. Normally it is the White guys who are always bad guys and Indians who are the peace loving guys who just want to get along. We are not getting all the information here on why they attack the village, but they are clearly aggressors neverless. Not that I want the Indians to be bad guys, but it will be refreshing to get away from “Whitey Evil All Day Long” in a western. I am purposely avoiding any facts about this movie right now to keep me guessing.

Turns out I was half right, on about pretty much everything.

The Indians are the aggressors who attacked a village. We also clearly get a second battle with the Indians and no clue is given if this is related or not. Was either attack because of clearly asshole racist John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy), we don’t know yet.

However the Indians are clearly not the overall bad guys here. That tainted honor goes John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). He doesn’t like Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) or Hugh Glass’ son. John Fitzgerald kills Hugh Glass’ son and then buries Hugh Glass alive. Then it is all about Hugh Glass seeking revenge while trying to stay alive.

Which sounds really exciting, except the truth is only slightly boring next to this movie. It is still an exciting tale of survival, only Hugh Glass didn’t have a son (that we know of) and Hugh Glass was mauled in August on the plains (not mid-winter in a mountainous area).

Still, I want to see this movie. It looks absolutely fantastic and breathtaking. Looking forward to it.

Well, see ya’ later!

#TruthMovie: Let The #RatherGate #Propaganda Begin!

This right here is a fever dream of two people who won’t let shit go:

Everyone who is above 15 years old knows how this story played out. Both Mary Mapes and Dan Rather were duped by Bill Burkett and the John Kerry campaign into believing a story about some fake documents. It took 12 days fore CBS to realized that they were duped and began an investigation:

In all, the investigation launched at CBS’s request in the wake of the story’s collapse found, “10 serious defects in the preparation and reporting of the story that included failure to obtain clear authentication of the documents or to investigate the controversial background of the source of the purported documents.”

In addition, Mary Mapes was faulted for “calling Joe Lockhart, a senior official in the John Kerry campaign, prior to the airing of the piece.” The report found this contact with a political campaign, “created the appearance of political bias.” Adding to that appearance is the fact that Mapes knew before the story aired that Bush had volunteered to go to Vietnam but was turned down in favor of more experienced pilots.

For their involvement in the sloppy, unverifiable story, Mapes and three other CBS executives were fired. Dan Rather was not fired but was demoted (he chose to step down) from his anchor role at CBS and made a correspondent.

Of course, after all these years both Mary Mapes and Dan Rather can’t let it go. Their ego is so huge that to this very day, they can’t admit that the documents were fakes. Mary Mapes wrote a book and is now getting Hollywood to further sell her propaganda to the masses.

The truth is simple: The Killian Documents was made up from whole cloth. CBS News’ own independent Killian Documents Report makes that clear. I don’t know if Mary Mapes and Dan Rather are bad people, but they are egomaniacs who think their own shit doesn’t smell.

I hope the movie does poorly and we can finally put this shameful chapter behind us. If you want a real hero reporter, it really should be Sharyl Attkisson.

Well, see ya’ later!
