#Walker2016: @ScottWalker’s #IranNuclearDeal Position

I was writing this article yesterday to address this topic, when Allahpundit wrote this article and dared me, DARED ME, to quote him. Or was that the voice in my head? Whichever:

This sounds to me like one of those disagreements that tend to pop up in primaries where two candidates with verrrrry similar views on a policy try to sharpen up their differences by digging in on a proxy issue instead. Is the Iran agreement bad? Terrible, says (JEB) Bush; awful, says (Scott) Walker. Should it be rolled back? Most definitely, says Bush; you betcha, says Walker. When should it be rolled back? Aha – Walker wants to get cracking on January 20th, 2017 while Bush is content to wait until March 2017 or so, when his Secretaries of State and Defense have been confirmed. You can understand why they’d split on that point. Bush wants to show voters that he’s more deliberate on foreign interventions than his brother was – even though George W. waited weeks after 9/11 to invade Afghanistan and then waited for an AUMF from Congress before going to the UN on Iraq. Walker, meanwhile, wants to reassure righties concerned about his lack of foreign policy expertise that he’s so on the ball when it comes to Iran, so keenly aware of the danger that nuclearization poses, that he’d be prepared to skip the inauguration balls if need be to plan an air attack instead. Essentially, he’s signaling knowledge and competence here by stressing his commitment to early action.

Damn you, Allahpundit, for writing a better summation than I could ever write!

Anyone who knows me knows that I hate populism. It is nasty and often just full of emotion. There is no policy, only a talking point to get votes. However I am forgiving the “populist” talking point and I’m siding with Scott Walker here for a number of reasons.

The first of which, Iran is causing most of the blood shed in the Middle East right now. They should be considered a rouge terrorist state and we should have no dealings with them whatsoever. There is no debate that Iran is a bad actor and Gov. Scott Walker isn’t going to pretend otherwise. Waiting and quibbling about “when” you are going to tear up the deal only shows indecisiveness.

Iran often chants “Death To America/Israel” and they are still doing it even after the deal was made. So I am not willing to wait around to see if they will make good on that threat. I am assuming Gov. Scott Walker doesn’t want to find out either.

I mean, come on! Even Sec. John Kerrey is upset at the comments:

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said a speech by Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on Saturday vowing to defy American policies in the region despite a deal with world powers over Tehran’s nuclear programme was “very disturbing”.

“I don’t know how to interpret it at this point in time, except to take it at face value, that that’s his policy,” he said in the interview with Saudi-owned Al Arabiya television, parts of which the network quoted on Tuesday.

“But I do know that often comments are made publicly and things can evolve that are different. If it is the policy, it’s very disturbing, it’s very troubling,” he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei told supporters on Saturday that U.S. policies in the region were “180 degrees” opposed to Iran’s, at a speech in a Tehran mosque punctuated by chants of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel”.

But Sec. John Kerrey and President Barack Obama are going full speed on this deal! What?! No!! Really bad idea, you guys!!

They kidnapped our people for 444 days, the Quds Force killed our people in Iraq, and that was just the beginning of the death and murder they have cause up until this point. They are pretty much the embodiment of “Death Here On Earth” right now and we are handing them the keys to Nuclear Armament. There is no waiting about tearing up this “non-binding” agreement and Governor Scott Walker understands this fact. Walker should then go to Jordan, Kurdistan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and forge his own agreement. Get peace deal with Israel and the rest of them, then ask what weapons, intelligence, and money they will all need to defeat these Shi’ite motherfuckers once and for all. I would tell them they will get UNLIMITED support in defeating Sunni extremism too.

Well, see ya’ later!

Outrageous: @SenatorMenendez’s #PoliticalProsecution Well Underway

I’m brimming with so much outage and anger right now, it’s not even funny:

The Justice Department is preparing to bring criminal corruption charges against New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez, alleging he used his Senate office to push the business interests of a Democratic donor and friend in exchange for gifts.

People briefed on the case say Attorney General Eric Holder has signed off on prosecutors’ request to proceed with charges, CNN has learned exclusively. An announcement could come within weeks. Prosecutors are under pressure in part because of the statute of limitation on some of the allegations.

And we all know why:

Senator Menendez gives legitimate and bipartisan opposition to President Obama’s “Peace With Dangerous Iranian And Cuban Thugs” policy. We on the right turned these allegations upside-down and inside-out and only now, after two long years, does the Justice Department bring criminal corruption charges? I might not agree with Senator Menendez on a lot of issues, but the timing on this just stinks to high heaven. This has all the hullmarks of a political prosecution to silent a political opponent.

I am going to break with my conservative brothers and sisters, and side with Senator Menendez here. I rather beat him at the ballot box than use trumped-up corruption charges to force him to resign.

Well, see ya’ later!
