#Election2016: #EatTheRich And Defining #TrumpCare Before They Do

If there is ever a chance for conservatives to defeat ‘The Don’ and send him away forever, here it is. ‘The Don’ just outted himself as a “big government” progressive Republican. On his newest populist nonsense pitch, ‘The Don’ wants to eat the rich:

Scott Pelley: Who are you going to raise taxes on?

Donald Trump: If you look at actually raise, some very wealthy are going to be raised. Some people that are getting unfair deductions are going to be raised. But overall it’s going to be a tremendous incentive to grow the economy and we’re going to take in the same or more money. And I think we’re going to have something that’s going to be spectacular.

Scott Pelley: But Republicans don’t raise taxes.

Donald Trump: Well, we’re not raising taxes.

To paraphrase Megan McArdle: An AADHD day trader with a cocaine habit has considerably more consistency than ‘The Don’ here. The man likely doesn’t have “consistency” in his personal vocabulary.

This is nonsense on sticks. ‘The Don’ wants to lower taxes on the middle class and then instead of offering a spending cut to go along with that, he wants to raise taxes on the rich. Basically he wants to “Eat The Rich” to push a tax cut on the middle class. That is populism and you know how much I hate populism.

Bill Whittle made a video on how bad of it of an idea “Eat The Rich” was and still is:

Amity Shlaes wrote in Bloomberg in 2013 about effective rates:

Official rates matter, but so do effective rates, the percent of income that people actually pay in tax. The Internal Revenue Service reckoned that the effective rate of tax in 1954 for top earners was actually 70 percent.

Or lower. Marc Linder, a law professor at the University of Iowa, has shown that a more comprehensive interpretation of income that includes capital gains suggests the real effective tax rate for millionaires was 49 percent in 1953. The effective rate dropped throughout the decade, reaching 31 percent by 1960. That 31 percent is just slightly higher than the 29 percent level a Congressional Budget Office report figures the average effective tax for the top quintile will be in 2014. And that number for 2014 doesn’t include taxes in Obama’s health-care law.

A second fantasy about the 1950s is that government soaked the rich. Joseph Thorndike and Martin Sullivan in Tax Notes magazine took a look at the tax distribution of the decade. They found that those earning more than $100,000 paid less than 5 percent of the taxes collected in the U.S., a far smaller share than the wealthiest shoulder today.

We really don’t have to tax the rich more or less. What we need to do is get out of big and small business’s way to create jobs. Deregulation is the key, not higher or even lower government!

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Speaking of ObamaCare, ‘The Don’ wants to relabel ObamaCare and wants to start his own TrumpCare. I am not joking. Here is Gabriel Malor ripping TrumpCare apart:

According to Trump, uninsured people are going to get coverage because he’s going to “make a deal with existing hospitals” and “the government’s gonna pay for it.” There’s a word for this exact proposal: Medicaid. Trump probably doesn’t know this, but Medicaid expansion was a huge part of ObamaCare. The “deal with existing hospitals” is so unfavorable for doctors and hospitals that many of them do not accept Medicaid patients because it would put them out of business. Does Trump know this? Meh, he doesn’t care.

But that’s just the uninsured. Trump goes on to say that “for the most part,” his plan will be “a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition.” If this idea also sounds strangely familiar, it is because this too is already part of our healthcare framework. Trump described the ObamaCare exchanges just like Obama did, as increasing competition in the private insurance markets by providing lots of options.

So TrumpCare is just ObamaCare rebranded. We must now define TrumpCare before he or his batshit crazy supporters (ie: Ann Coulter and Breitbart.com) define it. It is everything we have been fighting against. It is big government and it is a further intrusion.

Well, see ya’ later!

#Election2016: What Ugly #Populism Looks Like

People scoff at me when I tell them that “The Don” is a populist and will betray us once elected. His opinions will change like the fucking color changing chameleon that he is:

Donald Trump said he believes Republicans should shut down the government rather than fund Planned Parenthood, the health services group that is facing scrutiny after undercover videos of its officials emerged.

Chameleon Blue:

Donald Trump on Tuesday appeared to back off his demands to defund Planned Parenthood.

After saying last week it’s worth having Congress shut down the federal government unless Planned Parenthood is stripped of its $528 million in government funding, the Republican presidential candidate changed his tune.

Chameleon Red:

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said, “I would vote to defund” Planned Parenthood on Tuesday’s “O’Reilly Factor” on the Fox News.

…[Trump] answered, “Yes, I’ve seen it, and I think you know my stance on it. I’ve said it before, but… I’ve seen the videos. I think it’s a disgrace, and the answer is I would vote to defund, yes.”

That is an outright lie! We all have documented proof! Does he think we are idiots (well, maybe)?!

It is one thing to have a come to Jesus moment, but this is outright insanity. In the space of about 42 days, or just over a month, this man has held THREE different positions on if Planned Parenthood should be defunded or not. And just in time for a GOP Debate he comes out in favor of defunding Planned Parenthood, can you imagine that?

His supporters will lap it up and try to spin this somehow. I am glad he has come around, but I fear this will not last long. I will guess that anywhere between the minute “The Don” wins the nomination and the minute after that, he will change his position on defunding Planned Parenthood.

The true ugly face of populism is mistrust. He’ll say one thing to liberal audiences at CNN and another to conservative audiences at Fox News.

Well, see ya’ later!

#Election2016: Hey @Tracinski And @JonahNRO, The #Idiocracy Is Now

Hey guys. Having nightmares yet? No? Can I help you out? Have you heard of or seen Idiocracy?

The film tells the story of two people who take part in a top-secret military hibernation experiment, only to awaken 500 years later in a dystopian society where advertising, commercialism, and cultural anti-intellectualism have run rampant and that is devoid of intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, and coherent notions of justice and human rights.

Still not waking in cold sweats yet? Let me assure you then that the Idiocracy is not happening in 500 years, but it is happening NOW!

For those who do not quite follow, check out their articles (not going to quote them in any meaningful way, because you do not chop-up works of art) here:

#Election2016: We’re About To Usher The #Idiocracy Forward

We Are Standing On The Threshold Of The Idiocracy, And The 2016 Election Cycle Is Going To Usher It Forward.

The GOP frontrunner is a thuggish reality show clown and the Democrat’s frontrunner is a thuggish liar who is now under FBI investigation (not criminally, of course). I am without words. I take that back. I have a few:

We are standing on the threshold of the Idiocracy, and the 2016 Election Cycle is going to usher it forward. What is an Idiocracy?

The film tells the story of two people who take part in a top-secret military hibernation experiment, only to awaken 500 years later in a dystopian society where advertising, commercialism, and cultural anti-intellectualism have run rampant and that is devoid of intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, and coherent notions of justice and human rights.

This is not a joke people. The current GOP frontrunner defines advertising, commercialism, and cultural anti-intellectualism. The current Democrat frontrunner is devoid of intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, and coherent notions of justice and human rights.

In Duck Soup, wealthy Mrs. Teasdale insists that grossly incompetent and thin-skin Rufus T. Firefly be put in charge of a small nation. The thin-skin Firefly is goaded into going to war by the movie’s bad guy. We can laugh at the movie, because no really died. However if the thin-skin GOP frontrunner gets insulted (real or imagine), will he use the power of the government to go after them or send people off to die in a war?

In “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” Zaphod Beeblebrox is President of the Galaxy, a role that involves no power whatsoever. However it requires the incumbent to attract attention from who’s really in charge. Beeblebrox has been rather successful, since he has spent two of his ten-year term in jail. After shortly being sworn into office, will the FBI handcuff the Democrat’s frontrunner?

A real life example would be the Roman Republic. You know what happen. I don’t have to repeat it to you. They were all about the Rule Of Law. Then the games and corruption set in. They wanted their entertainment and entitlements. Then came decline, tyranny, and then vanishment. Moral decay, subjection, and then disappearance.

In the TV show, Roar, a traveling merchant tries to sell “atmos”, a primitive form of gunpowder. The bad guys get their hands on the stuff and make a cannon. The good guys don’t understand and ask the traveling merchant what is that cannon. Knowing what it is and knowing the horrific nature of what he has unleash, the traveling merchant stands before his creation and names his doom: The Future

Does no one else see what the future holds with these two? Does no one else see what both the current GOP and Democrat frontrunner represent? They are the living embodiment of the beginning of the end. They are the ushers of our doom. They are the Idiocracy’s dream realized.

Everywhere I go, everyone says “the people” are not the problem. The talking-head class says that the people are being FORCED to support the GOP and Democrat frontrunner because each party has left them little choice. That’s a load of bullshit! No one is forcing anyone to do anything! Just because we “made them” or whatever, they can be outright ignored! They are a wilfully buying into GOP and Democrat frontrunner charlatans, because they both tickle the people’s entertainment quota and entitlements! Then will come decline, tyranny, and then vanishment. Moral decay, subjection, and then disappearance.

As for the GOP Debate, repeat after me: Life. Isn’t. Fair. So Megyn Kelly was mean to some mega rich guy, who was a raging liberal just a few short years ago and has ultra thin-skin. Cry me a damn river.

There are real Americans out here with real problems. The IRS just robbed my grandmother of some $800, so excuse me if I don’t feel sorry for the mega rich GOP frontrunner or the gullible masses who think he is getting a raw deal.

Well, see ya’ later!
