#MondayFiction: #100WordChallenge | “Sunflower Dinner”

The two scientists walked the empty streets of Okuma, the rows of one to one-and-a-half meter rough-hairy sunflower stems, without the actual inflorescence, were of great concern to both men.

“The abandon genetics lab is where this starts and goes out to the sea.”

“Have you told anyone of this, but me?” said the older Japanese scientist.

“What was the genetics lab working on?”

“I don’t have the report in front me, but if I remember correctly: dinosaurs, moths, and turtles.”

“Re-plant the sunflowers.” said the older Japanese scientist. “Phytoremediation must continue. I will deal with these creatures myself.”

Right. How I went from today’s inspiration to Kaiju, I’ll leave to your imagination. Enjoy!
