Apology

March 8, 2008

I know this will be late and won't change anything, but I want to apologize to the people at 6 Gig Drive. What bumper_lover said, seem increditbly insensitive at the time. It was like she was dismissing me and saying my feelings didn't matter. Even so, what I did was worse and I see that now.

Contrary to popular belief, Wikipedia does takes vandalism, including userpages, very seriously. If you want to vandalize something of mine, go to my Uncyclopedia page. That is why we have Uncyclopedia and EncyclopediaDramatica for goodness sake, use them accordingly.

You guys also keep telling me I take things too seriously. That most of the time you guys are joking around. Well, I like a good joke like everyone else. Take the Microbe thread for example. I don't really mind forced memes, since I myself am a fan of Cuddles Giles Hoover and I have been known to make a crack or two. I even once commented that Mutamu might want to add "brb, soup" as his user title because everyone in Spinchat kept calling him 'Moot' and I was reminded of that (linked) incident.

However, these attacks have become rude and seem very personal. I also think picking on someone, just for the sake of picking on someone, gets old and in time, does get personal. The person being picked on becomes fustrated that they can't seem to please anyone or contribute to the community. Joking around with someone, does not always have to be insults. Whenever I would joke with Failure, it was always a play on her name. I always made it very clear to her that if I ever crossed the line, to let me know.

I also hope one day you will let me back. Even on my forum, I will never resort to permanent banishment. I don’t believe it solves anything and creates more problems down the road, because it’s too easy a fix and it never addresses the issues that created the problem to begin with. The only punishment that should be “permanent” is if you kill someone (because the murder can never be forgiven by the victim). You say you don't take the internet seriously, yet why is punishment taken so seriously? Maybe in a month or two, would you reconsider Wes?

Well, see ya' later!
