Krustyland

So yeah, on the 17th I visited Universal Studios with my nephew Blake and went on the new Simpsons Ride over there. I personally loved it and had a blast. It was smoother ride than Back to the Future. My nephew on the other hand, was completely unimpressed by the ride. He wanted to go on the rollercoaster. We did that twice and then we ate. After we had to wait for a table, we invited a couple to join us at a table for four and made friends with them. They were nice and thankful to get out of the sun. Next we headed for the Jurassic Park River Adventure and Blake loved that very big. I was worried because he was somewhat small for the bar to hold him down, but he made it through and wanted to go again. I said no and wanted to go home. Blake gave me a little lip, but was too tired to give me much of a fight.

I write this now instead of the 17th, was because I was just too damn tired. However it’s a good tired, because I am part of something bigger than myself. I love my job and I hope I am there forever.

Well, see ya’ later!

Busy Bee

Been ultra busy of late. Between work and sleep, I have done much of anything. With the owner of the hotel coming down, we have kick in gear “getting stuff done” and even looking like we are getting stuff done. We have also been doing mass mail-outs. While even thinking of doing mass mail-outs gives me a headache, I guess this is part of the office experience and it is nice to be doing something since it’s ultra slow (but you will never see me complaining about it being slow at work). My only beef has to be my schedule absolutely sucks ass. I just hope this doesn’t continued for too long. I like the morning shift way too much.

Well, see ya’ later!

Cinco De Mayo

Well, today is Cinco de Mayo and I can’t do anything about it. I hadn’t realized what today was until I woke-up and was reminded at a web-site I vist. It’s ok really, I got my revenge over the weekend without even realizing it: When I had to drop $0.99 in change, I put $0.95 of it in nickles.

I saw Iron Man over the weekend. It was just a plain awesome moive. Some people said it was anti-American and others said it was pro-American. I thought it was just All American! Robert Downey Jr. was cool, but Jeff Bridges stole the movie playing the evil Obadiah Stane.

Well, see ya’ later!

Twenty-Eight

As the story goes, on May 1st 1980 my mother went to see her doctor for her check-up. He (she, was never clear on this point) smiled after the examination and with infinite timing, told my mother:

“Two weeks.”

My mother always laughs at this point. No matter how hard she tries to hold it back, she can’t help but break out into a belly laugh at this part of the story. I can’t help but also laugh with her. So as my mother walks out the doctor’s door, her water breaks. And in the early morning of May 2nd, 1980 I was born.

It is sad to note that me and my mom has agreed to disagree. I’m an Atheist and she is a fundamental Baptist. I am a Republican and she is, well, a paranoid Democrat (cut her phone service when the whole NSA Wiretapping thing came out). Don’t get me wrong, I love her and she’s the reason I am a Republican to this day. As a young child she told me that we are a Republic and thus, Republicans are right. Now this doesn’t make since to you and me as adults, but it made a lot of sense to a child and it stuck with me as I develop my world view. If it wasn’t for my mom, I wouldn’t be here talking to you today in more ways than one.

However today I turn Twenty-Eight. That may not seem old to you, but to me that means I am only two short years till I am thirty. Maybe I am having a little “early-life” crisis, but last night I (without realizing what I was doing) wrote a list of things I want to do before I’m thirty.

I’ve always wanted to do something more for the election process than just vote. Don’t get me wrong, I think voting is very important and you should do it at every vote/election. Volunteering is out of the question, I have a new job and I want to focus my energy is making sure I keep this job for now. Besides I don’t want to go to work and fall asleep. I have already done the protesting thing (don’t judge me). Today was pay-day, so what better way to help out in this election than to donate some of my money.

But where to donate? Local politics are infinitely boring here in Florida. Most of the debates come down to how much we should tax the hell out of tourists (however it always seems to come and back-fire against the locals sooner or later). Floridian US House Elections are equality boring this year. There is no Florida US Senate Election. And good old Governor Charlie Chist is in his second year of his first term. On top of that, Gov Chist won big in Florida with the passage of Amendment One back during our primary. But I digress.

So the most logical choice to spend my money will be on McCain. I will be honest with you, it wasn’t all that long ago that I wasn’t ready to support McCain. I didn’t know too much about him, getting only tib-bits views of him from time to time. However that all changed when he made these two awesome speeches. By that time, I was sold on the “Straight-Talk Express” and I haven’t looked back. Now I have an interest in his campaign more than ever.
