Alright. To get away from the heavy tone of the last two entries, I thought I bring it down a notch or two.
If you do not already know, it doesn't snow here in Florida. I like to consider it a perk of living here. I went up north one winter and although I like visiting, I swore I would never live in that snow. Sure it was fun as hell, but by week's end I was ready to go home to sun and palm trees. But I digress.
The next town had a "Snow Day" where they pack snow (or ice, but who's counting?) on a hill and had people slide down on cheap snow sleds. They also had food stands, a rock-climbing wall, a maze, and Santa Claus. Anyway, we got there earily and got something to eat. We then got in line to go down the slide.
As we got to our turn, Blake got cold feet (no pun intended). I then reminded Blake of the elephant ride and how after being scared at first, he got on the elephant and had a great time. With a smile on his face, he look back at the slide and said he'll go down. Being the dumbass that I am, I let him go down by himself.
So he goes down by himself, thinking it would be ok. He's a big kid and I've seen kids his age who crash walk away. So 2/3rds down he does crash. I go down shortly afterward and crash around the same pace he did. I get "rope burn" on my left hand and slide a good yard on my ass.
I look up and saw Blake crying. I get up and go to him, where my Grandmother (Nanny) is looking after him. His right hand is scratched up, but he is fine. Blake refuses to get treated at the First Aid stand and so we have to leave. I don't mind him doing stuff and getting hurt, but we needed to clean cuts or they will get infected. I mean, if I'm over reacting with this, then please tell me.
Blake of course, hates me all the way home. When we get close to home, he says he wants to go down the snow slide again. Me and Nanny roll our eyes as she pulls into the driveway.
Well, see ya' later!
